Boksburg SAPS marks Women’s Month with walk against GBVF

Boksburg SAPS took to the streets this Women’s Month, leading a powerful walk against gender-based violence and femicide. From aerobics to awareness talks, the day united the community in solidarity with survivors.

Boksburg SAPS commemorated Women’s Month in a powerful and purposeful way on August 8, by hosting a walk to raise awareness about GBVF.

The day began with an energetic aerobics session at the Boksburg Police Station, setting the tone for an event focused on unity and community engagement. Participants then took to the streets for a walk to Comet Sports Ground, joined by community members, local organisations, and various stakeholders.

Upon arrival, representatives from partner organisations addressed the crowd, sharing vital information about their services and support systems available to survivors of GBV. Their messages focused on empowering victims, educating the public, and encouraging early reporting to prevent further harm.
