The Ekurhuleni Metro Police carried out a by-law operation in Boksburg, seizing gas stoves, fresh produce, and household items from traders operating without permits.

The EMPD By-Law Enforcement Unit recently conducted a targeted operation in the Boksburg CBD, resulting in the confiscation of various goods from illegal hawkers operating without valid trading permits.

According to Zweli Dlamini, spokesperson of the city, the operation covered key streets, including Plantation and Railway streets, Main and Pritchard streets in Boksburg North, and concluded on First Street.

“Officers seized a range of items, including gas stoves, electrical appliances, fresh produce such as tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, and spinach, as well as household goods and other merchandise. All confiscated items were transported to the Boksburg pound for safekeeping.”
