Little ones get 67 Minutes of quality learning
Golden Walk Centre Management and Ray of Hope Foundations joined forces at Mother Choice Daycare, bringing schoolwork support, stationery, food and a wish to give more often.
In honour of Mandela Month, a small but powerful act of community care unfolded at Mother Choice Daycare in Delmore Park on July 30, where learners received hands-on help with their schoolwork.
The management of Golden Walk Shopping Centre collaborated with Ray of Hope Foundations to help ensure the children received help with their schoolwork and other educational activities for the symbolic 67 Minutes for Mandela Day.
Additionally, the managers of the shopping centre supplied food sponsored by Pedros and stationery donated by McDonald’s, and added that they will soon provide mats for the learners too.
Smiles and expressions of gratitude filled the daycare as the children were clearly thrilled to receive the gifts.

Sandra Allies, the founder of Ray of Hope Foundations, said: “We do this to rescue the less fortunate in our community.”
This highlights the organisation’s goal of supporting vulnerable families with clothing, food and counselling when needed.
While grateful for the support, the daycare expressed a hope that such visits could become more frequent.
“We are grateful for stakeholders that help our children, but we would appreciate it a lot if they came more often,” said Faith Taylor.
