CPF appeals for help

The Sector Four CPF will continue to monitor and cut grass at the area next to the Oos Rand train station.

Boksburg SAPS Sector Four CPF members, who took it as their responsibility to cut the long grass at an area they identified as a crime hotspot, are still appealing for grass cutting and protection equipment to keep the area safe and clean.

Chairperson Julius Stuurman said they haven’t received any donations of the equipment they need, so they are again appealing to residents to donate slashers, pangas, torches, pepper sprays, shovels, chainsaws and weed killer.

“We have cut grass in the area several times this year but it’s difficult for us to do our job efficiently without the proper equipment.

“The area is going to become worse in summer as the grass will grow quickly. Our main job as the CPF is to fight crime around Boksburg, not only in Comet, but we can only do it if we are supported and sponsored by the people we serve.

“We are volunteers in need of support to help our community. The police do support us and for this we are grateful,” said Stuurman.
