High-density operation in Boksburg North yields results

Police also confiscated dagga and closed down two illegal shebeens.

A high-density operation in Boksburg North on January 7 led to the arrest of 12 people.

Boksburg North SAPS station commander Colonel Mack Mngomezulu said central and north zone police stations, the EMPD, Home Affairs and security companies conducted the operation.

They recorded the following successes:

Two illegal shebeens were closed down, and 384 000l of alcohol were confiscated from them.

Ten people were arrested for being unable to produce documents to prove they were in the country legally.

The police also apprehended two people in possession of dangerous goods and confiscated 23 Ziplock bags of dagga.

Moreover, 16 fines amounting to R8 000 were issued.
