Security officer arrested in connection with shooting of motorist
The driver was taken to hospital.
The SAPS recently arrested a security officer for allegedly shooting and wounding a driver on Main Reef Road on April 20.
Boksburg North SAPS station commander Colonel Mack Mngomezulu said the security officer apparently believed he saw a stolen vehicle and gave chase.
.“When the driver did not stop his vehicle, the security officer reportedly shot and wounded him,” said Mngomezulu.
The driver was taken to hospital.
Mngomezulu could not divulge more information about the driver or his vehicle. Investigations continue.
A skeleton docket (when the police open up a case on behalf of the victim, who is unable to do so) for attempted murder was opened against the security officer.
