Mabula have assured the public that they will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all residents.

Members of the Dawn Park SAPS Crime Prevention Unit and traffic wardens recently reacted to information about Lesotho nationals terrorising community members at Lindelani, Windmill Park.

According to station spokesperson Sergeant Nkemeleng Mabula, officers approached five men, all of whom were Lesotho nationals.

“During the operation, a 32-year-old man was searched and found to be in possession of a firearm and 14 rounds of ammunition. The man was arrested for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

“The suspect was detained at Dawn Park SAPS and will appear in court,” said Sergeant Mabula.

Mabula emphasised that the removal of illegal firearms and ammunition from the streets directly saves lives.

She highlighted that when the community collaborates closely with the police, it consistently leads to successful community policing outcomes.
