Malbroer assault: Accused to remain in custody
The father was described as a loving family man.
Two men appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on May 13 in connection with the death of Brandon Pretorius, a young father from Jansen Park who succumbed to his injuries on May 6 following an assault.
The accused, aged 30 and 45, are facing a charge of murder.
It is understood that the assault stemmed from an incident at the Malbroer Pub and Grill on North Rand Road on April 25.
Pretorius sustained serious injuries in a reported assault outside the venue.
His attackers allegedly followed him on his way home and assaulted him again. He died in the hospital a day after turning 29.
The matter has been postponed to May 21.
