Couple killed in early morning home invasion

Police have opened two murder cases and multiple robbery cases.

Two family members were shot and killed during a robbery in the early hours of June 7 in Boksburg.

According to police, 73-year-old Whiteson Banda and his partner, 48-year-old Tiny Setepi, were attacked in their shack in Angelo informal settlement around midnight. Banda was found lying face down with a gunshot wound to his upper chest. Setepi was found on the bed with a gunshot wound to the nose.

Witnesses said a gang of five men broke into the yard and forced entry into 16 shacks, robbing residents of cellphones, cash, and other valuables.
Setepi, the wife of the landlord, reportedly screamed for help when she heard the commotion, but no one responded.
The couple was shot before the attackers fled with the stolen items.
