The Alaska Spur at the Atlas Mall gave back to the community to celebrate its 57th birthday on October 24.
Manager Monique Labuschagne said they invited children from the iKhaya da Luz Children’s Home and the Huis Charis Youth Care Centre to enjoy lunch at the restaurant. Furthermore, the children received backpacks filled with goodies and ate a delicious birthday cake.

“We just wanted to do something good in celebration of our birthday. The Humanity Foundation, with whom they have a good relationship, suggested the organisations,” Labuschagne said.
The founder of The Humanity Foundation, Pierre Marneweck, thanked Spur for approaching the foundation.
“Our mission is to help other NPOs, so we’re happy Spur spoilt the children,” said Marneweck.
