Swap your little shop minis to help feed animals at Boksburg SPCA
A simple tin of food is a small price to pay to help the furry friends at the Boksburg SPCA and finally finish your collection.
Collectors searching for their final Checkers Little Shop Mini may find it at the Boksburg SPCA, where the organisation is inviting the public to exchange a tin of dog or cat food for one of the popular miniature items.
The initiative offers the community a chance to complete their collections while helping to feed the many animals in the SPCA’s care.
Secretary Sue Beadon said the response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive.
“We’ve had many people coming in for the minis. Our wonderful Suppawters have also been collecting these amazing collectables for us. If you have any doubles, please drop them off at our reception. With so many hungry mouths to feed, food is always top of our list,” she said.
The SPCA encourages residents to either swap a tin of food for a missing mini or donate duplicate collectables to the society. All donated tins go directly towards feeding rescued dogs and cats housed at the shelter.

“It’s a win-win situation, and we will appreciate the community’s support,” Beadon added.
This initiative comes as the Checkers Little Shop promotion returns for a fifth time, featuring 46 reimagined minis that are soft, rubbery and double as fidget toys. The 2025 collection includes well-known South African heritage brands such as All Gold Tomato Sauce, Ouma Rusks and Oros, along with Checkers’ own Sixty60 delivery bike and Simple Truth Coconut Water.
By supporting the Boksburg SPCA’s mini swap, residents can complete their collection while contributing to animal welfare. Each tin donated helps provide food and care for the shelter’s animals, making it a simple way to give back to the community while enjoying the fun of the Little Shop craze.
