Child welfare honours long serving employees, donors

The Child Welfare branches will continue helping children in need.

Long-serving employees and donors of the child welfare branches were awarded certificates of appreciation during the organisation’s recent AGM.

Director of Boksburg Child Welfare Nompumelelo Gidela said it was the opportune time to honour and thank the organisations and individuals who have helped sustain the organisation and keep it functional.

Sunward High Performance School’s maths and science teacher, Kyle Oelofse, was recognised for the school’s donations. With him is Angelique McAdam, chairperson of Gauteng Child Welfare, from the provincial office.

“We would like to honour and award our long-serving employees, Priscilla Wool, who has served for 15 years, Ayanda Kanyile and Pamella Mthethwa, who have both been with us for 10 years and Mikateko Maluleke and social auxiliary worker Kamogelo Mogorosi for their five-year service,” said Gidela.

She also thanked EQSTRA Fleet Management for donating new laptops and 100 food parcels and Frank Mathabela for donations of cereals, noodles and bread to the Vosloorus branch.

Gidela said Albany has also played an instrumental role in donating bread on a daily basis to their shelter and Thokomala House in Vosloorus.

The car donated to Boksburg Child Welfare by CeeBee Debt Management Services.

“Intertek has also supported our educational and supportive programmes and CeeBee Debt Management Services donated a car to us, which assists greatly with our maintenance work.

“Teacher Kyle Oelofse from Sunward High Performance School has been helpful in collecting donations of clothing and non-perishables from learners and their parents for which we are very grateful.”
