‘The Kid’ edges closer to EFC glory following victory over ‘The Power’
'The Kid' said he had to dig deep to secure the win.
Beyers Park EFC fighter Billy ‘The Kid’ Oosthuizen is one step closer to becoming an EFC champion after securing a victory in the recent EFC 121 featherweight bout against Ayanda ‘The Power’ Zwane.
Oosthuizen triumphed over Zwane 4 minutes and 17 seconds into the third round, winning by rear-naked choke at the EFC Performance Institute.
Over the course of two rounds, Zwane’s kickboxing and elusive movement kept his opponent at bay, who began to bleed heavily from his wounds. However, in the third round, knowing he was down by two rounds, ‘The Kid’ took Zwane to the canvas and locked in a rear-naked choke to take the tap in a sensational come-from-behind victory.
‘The Kid said he’s extremely happy to walk away as the winner of the fight.

“I had to dig deep for this victory, and it was hard work. I realised after the first two rounds that my game plan wasn’t working, so I had to adapt. That’s what helped me turn things around.”
“During this fight, I also learned not to block punches with my nose,” said Oosthuizen, whose pro-MMA record is 9-6-0.
He also credited his gym, Godfather MMA, and his sponsors for playing an important role in his success.
“They help me push myself to the limit,” he said.
‘The Kid’ is already looking ahead to his next fight, with his sights firmly set on bringing the title home. I feel ready for it, and will continue to work around the clock.”
More information on his upcoming fight, where he could potentially earn a title, will be available soon.
