Boksburg wrestlers bring home glory at Noordval league
With these results, the Boksburg Amateur Wrestling Club continues to build its reputation as one of the most determined wrestling clubs in Ekurhuleni.
The Boksburg Amateur Wrestling Club (BAWC) has once again shown its mettle on the mat, with seven of its wrestlers proudly representing Ekurhuleni’s Hawks team at the Noordvaal Presidente League, held recently at the Gauteng North Wrestling Hall.
Boksburg’s representatives in the tournament were Ruben van Rooyen (27kg), Keanu Bisschoff (48kg), Timothy Nortman (65kg), Kadin Botha (71kg), Japie Botha (80kg), Aljay Olivier (92kg) and Taden Bisschoff (125kg).
Competing against top provinces, the Hawks delivered a powerful performance to secure second place overall with 39 points, narrowly trailing the Bulls, who took the top spot with 60 points.
Each wrestler displayed unwavering determination, courage and discipline throughout the tournament, embodying the true spirit of amateur wrestling and teamwork.

One of the standout moments for the club came when Keanu Bisschoff was named to the Champion of Champions team, a recognition reserved for top performers from across the provinces.
The club is proud of Keanu’s achievement and of every athlete who stepped onto the mat.
BAWC also extended its gratitude to coaches Japie Botha and Marco Coetzee for their dedication in preparing the athletes for the tournament.
Their consistent guidance and training were instrumental in helping the wrestlers reach peak performance.
The spirit, sportsmanship and commitment shown by the young wrestlers have made them fly Boksburg’s flag.
