Matric results: Balmoral College learners shine

Of the 59 candidates who sat for their final exams at the end of 2022, 58 achieved bachelor's passes.

Notwithstanding the disruptions and other educational challenges caused by load-shedding, the Balmoral College matric class of 2022 achieved a 100% pass rate in the final NSC examinations.

This is one of the Boksburg schools that have for the past years, including the hard lockdown levels, managed to maintain their impressive performance.
The school’s 2022 cohort obtained more bachelor’s passes compared to the previous year, celebrating 77 distinctions, 106 B’s and 116 C’s.
Of the 59 candidates who wrote, 58 achieved bachelor’s passes.

The school management attributed the success to the dedication and hard work of staff and the learners, as well as the continued support from parents.

Top achievers

Six distinctions: Mayibongwe Ncube.

• Mayibongwe Ncube achieved six distinctions and a B (accounting 99%, economics 98%, business studies 97%, mathematics 86%, English 83%, life orientation 89%, isiZulu 75%. Average 89.6%)

Five distinctions: Phiwe Ndamse.

• Phiwe Ndamse achieved five distinctions and two B’s (economics 97%, mathematical literacy 93%, business studies 94%, life orientation 88%, accounting 87%, English 70%, Afrikaans 70%. Average 85.6%).

Five distinctions: Pontsho Tau.

• Pontsho Tau achieved five distinctions, one B and one C (tourism 91%, life sciences 89%, mathematics 86%, life orientation 85%, computer application technology 82%, English 77%, Sepedi 66%. Average 82.3%).

Five distinctions: Morwesi Nkunyane.

• Morwesi Nkunyane achieved five distinctions, one B and one C (tourism 93%, business studies 89%, economics 87%, mathematical literacy 85%, life orientation 83%, Afrikaans 73% and English 66%. Average 82.31%).

Five distinctions: Siphesihle Dlamini.

• Siphelele Dlamini scored five distinctions and two B’s (economics 88%, business studies 86%, accounting 84%, life orientation 85%, mathematical literacy 80%, English 74% and IsiZulu 74%. Average 81.6%).
