Man shot by intruder

A 30-year-old Brakpan man was shot by an intruder, in his home, on Sunday night, last week.

According to information received from Brakpan police, the Boundary Street resident sustained a gunshot wound to his right hip, after finding the man in his home at about 8pm.

The intruder was wearing a balaclava and black hooded sweatshirt, and was armed with a 9mm pistol.

It is believed a struggle between the pair ensued and the intruder fired four shots and fled.

Police were called to the scene and the resident was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.

He is reportedly in a stable condition.

Nothing was stolen during the incident, and a case of attempted murder is being investigated by police.
