Stolen crane truck recovered

Members of the EMPD's Equestrian Unit assisted a tracking company in recovering a crane truck that was recently stolen in Vanderbijlpark.

The truck, which was abandoned with its cargo, was recovered on Wednesday afternoon, last week, in Tsakane.

“Metro police officers readily and swiftly responded to the request from the tracking company and within no time the stolen crane truck with the Eskom load of transformer oil and transformer parts worth around R100 000 was located in Tsakane Extension 17,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

Kgasago added that a preliminary case of using a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent was registered at the Tsakane police station until such time that the culprits can be identified.

The truck was released to its owners.
