Dagga peddlar arrested

The continued hunt for drug dealers by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department in Brakpan is gradually yielding positive results.

A dagga dealer was arrested by members of the EMPD’s Equestrian Unit in Brakpan, on Sunday, April 13.

“He was found with the stock that had dwindled to only four packets worth around R100,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

“In the past six weeks, the Equestrian Unit has doubled its effort in ensuring that our streets are free of drug dealers.”

According to Kgasago, those arrested have led the metro police to “bigger fish in this illicit and dangerous trade plied on our streets on a daily basis”.

“The metro police have vowed to unrelentingly continue with these operations until the desired results are achieved,” he added.

The suspect, who is in his mid-20’s, was charged with possession and suspected dealing in dagga at the Brakpan police station.
