Trauma Support receives welcome donation
Emotional Management Services Trauma Support recently received a welcome donation from local businesses.
ELB Catering Supplies, John Dory’s, Monument Cleaning and One Time Catering donated a tablet to the organisation.
The donation was handed over by the businesses to Jorrie Jordaan, from EMS Trauma Support, at John Dory’s in the Mall@Carnival, on Monday.
The main objective of EMS Trauma Support is to provide victims of accidents, crime, natural disasters and trauma scenes with a realistic structure, from where they can limit their perception of threat by giving them useful and accurate information relevant to their crisis, including physical help and trauma support.
The staff are experienced members of the community and operate as volunteers.
They are trained to a high professional standard and are involved with on-going training in specialised fields of expertise.
The organisation’s assistance, help and support specifically applies to, but is not limited to the following areas of operation:
* on scene support for victims
* death notification
* post scene support and debriefing
EMS Trauma Support co-operates fully with all law enforcement and emergency services personnel.
For more information, or to become a volunteer, contact Jorrie Jordaan on 082 853 5336.
