A massive operation to combat illegal electricity connections took place at the Mkhankwa Village informal settlement, near Ergo, this morning (Thursday).
The operation saw hundreds of members from Red Ant Security Services descend on the settlement to remove illegal electricity connections.
Officials from the Brakpan SAPS and EMPD were also present.
When the Herald arrived on the scene at about 9.30am, the operation was still underway and two truckloads of cables had already been seized.
