
According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday – A car parked along Gert Bezuidenhout Street, in Minnebron, was broken into and a laptop was stolen.
* Three men robbed a jewellery store in Mall@Carnival.

* A Yamaha motorcycle was stolen from an address along Coetzee Street, in Minnebron.
* Two business burglaries took place.
A Voortrekker Road shop was burgled of cigarettes to the value of R17 000, while cellphones and electronics were stolen from a store in Kitzinger Avenue.
* Tyres and parts were stolen from a truck parked at a company along Molecule Road, in Vulcania.
* A 58-year-old woman was raped in an open veld along 12th Road, in Withok Estates.
The woman, her husband and granddaughter were walking home at about 4pm when they were confronted by two men.
The men, both of whom were armed with guns, demanded money and assaulted the woman’s husband.
Following the assault, the husband and grandchild managed to run away.
One of the attackers then grabbed the woman and dragged her into the veld where he raped her.
The woman sought help from security guards at a nearby company.
* A man was robbed of a portable speaker in the Mkhankwa Village informal settlement, near Ergo.
While listening to music at around 7pm, the victim and a friend were threatened at gunpoint by two robbers.
Two suspects have since been arrested.
• Saturday – A business along Hendrik Potgieter Road, in Dalview, was broken into.
The thieves damaged two cameras and stole a digital scale and biltong.
* A battery was stolen from a truck parked at Mall@Carnival.
• Sunday – No information pertaining to incidents that took place on Sunday was received.
Other:
• Thursday – A red and black GoMoto scooter was stolen from a property along Devon Street, in Dalview.
* A home in Gloucester Street, Kenleaf, was burgled of a television set, jewellery and other household items.
* A motorist was robbed of his laptop and portable hard drive device along Heidelberg Road, near Leachville.
The victim told police he was stationary along the road when a thief opened the vehicle’s left rear door and took the items.
The incident took place at about 11.30am.
