Carjacking:

• The 48-year-old driver of a white Isuzu (model not provided) was hijacked near Mall@Carnival at 9am, yesterday (Tuesday).

The victim told police he was stationary at the intersection of Rangeview Road and Airport Drive, when six men approached the vehicle and pointed guns at him.

The driver was told to get out of the vehicle and was then bundled into the boot of a red Toyota Corolla.

The hijackers tied the driver’s hands and feet with wire and drove off with him.

He was dropped off in Protea Glen, Soweto, and sought help at a nearby police station.

House robbery:

• A domestic worker was locked in the bathroom of her employer’s house along McMillan Street, in Brakpan North, by a lone house robber.

The incident took place at about noon, yesterday.

The woman was outside when a man armed with a gun confronted her.

He pointed the firearm at her and led her into the house, where he demanded money.

The robber then took the woman to the main bedroom, where he found a belt in a cupboard and used it to tie her hands.

He then locked the woman in the bathroom, but returned a short while later to ask for the gate keys.

The robber fled with clothing, shoes, a cellphone, R80 in cash and the keys.

Burglary:

• Goods Road (business).

The property was burgled on Monday.

Stolen: Car parts and electrical appliances.

• Van Dyk Street, in Dalpark (business).

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: While nothing was stolen, damage was estimated at R3 000.

• Bertram Street, in Brakpan North.

The house was broken into yesterday.

Stolen: Tools, a TV, jewellery and kitchen appliances.

Attempted motor vehicle theft

• An attempt was made to steal a white Dyna truck parked along 12th Road, in Vulcania.

The incident took place between 12.30pm and 1.45pm, yesterday.

The vehicle’s ignition was tampered with and the passenger door lock was damaged.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• Two batteries were stolen from a truck parked in Lemmer Road, Vulcania, yesterday.

The theft took place between 5.15pm and 5.50pm.
