Crime reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (July 17 to 18):

Cases reported:

Arrests:

• Theft of motor vehicle (warrant of arrest): 1

Robbery:

• A man was robbed at the corner of Voortrekker Road and High Street, on Sunday.

The victim was overpowered by a group of five men and one woman at around 11.45am.

They searched him and took his bag, which contained a laptop and a WiFi router.

• Five men robbed a shop in Station Road, yesterday (Monday).

The robbers entered the store at about 11.30am and took cash and cellphones.

Burglary:

• Electron Road, in Vulcania (business).

The workshop was burgled on Friday.

Stolen: Power tools.

• Strasheim Street, in Brakpan North (vacant property).

The break-in was discovered yesterday.

Stolen: Electrical wiring. An attempt had been made to steal water pipes.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A white Nissan NP300 was stolen from the Sherwood Shopping Centre.

The car was stolen last night between 6.20pm and 6.32pm.

Valuables inside the vehicle included cash, personal documents and tools.

• An orange and black Hyosung motorbike (model not provided) was stolen from an address along Spies Street, in Brakpan North.

The bike was stolen at around 2.30am yesterday.

Theft out of/from a motor vehicle:

• Gas bottles, a gas burner, two fire extinguishers, cold drinks and bottles of water were stolen from a trailer parked along Rossouw Crescent, in Minnebron.

The theft took place between 6am and 4.20pm, yesterday.

• A battery was stolen from a vehicle parked along Station Road.

The theft took place sometime over the weekend and was discovered yesterday morning.

• A vehicle parked at an address along Koos Vorster Avenue, in Minnebron, was broken into on Sunday.

No further information pertaining to this incident was received.
