Company helps to save lives

Golden-Shield Insurance Brokers held a blood drive on Tuesday, last week, to encourage their employees and other public members to support a good cause.

“Changing our behaviour is ultimately up to each individual,” said Matthew Bowe, director of Golden-Shield.

“However, employers have a tremendous opportunity to help their employees see the value of adopting healthier behaviours so that they can live healthier lives.”

“This is why the blood drive was so important to us. We wanted to create a community of people who could encourage and support one another to get involved in such an important cause. Even just one person going to give blood can have a ripple effect and encourage others to do the same.”

This blood drive is planned to take place every three months at the parking lot located at the offices, which are situated at the corner of Kingsway and Prince George Avenue.

The public is also encouraged to attend these blood drives.
