The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (October 4 and 5):

Hijacking:

• A Brenthurst resident was hijacked in the driveway of her Hofmeyer Street home, last night (Wednesday).

Two hijackers, who were travelling in a white Volkswagen Polo, confronted the victim at gunpoint as she arrived home at around 7.45pm.

The men climbed into her car (make, model and colour not provided) and drove off.

The vehicle was later recovered in Tsakane.

Burglary:

• Voortrekker Road (business).

The break-in took place on Monday.

Stolen: Copper components and pieces of metal.

• Colliery Road, in Kenleaf.

The home was burgled on Monday.

Stolen: Camping and fishing equipment, tools, a leather jacket, motorcycle helmet and a generator.

• Queen Avenue

The vacant property was broken into on Tuesday.

Stolen: Taps, a kitchen sink, geyser, bathroom basin, electric cables and other household fittings.

• Eric Holdtman Avenue, in Minnebron.

The burglary took place on Tuesday.

Stolen: Wheels and a radio were stolen from a car parked in a garage on the property.

A Bajaj Pulsar motorbike (colour and model not provided) was also taken.

• Augrabies Avenue, in Dalpark.

The home was burgled yesterday.

Stolen: Two TVs and a tablet.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A white Opel Corsa was stolen from George Troskie Street, in Minnebron, on Tuesday.

Theft out of a motor vehicle:

• A female motorist was robbed of her cellphone in a smash-and-grab at the corner of Voortrekker Road and Station Road, last night.

The victim was stationary at the traffic lights at around 7.15pm, when a man smashed the front passenger window and grabbed the phone from her hand.
