The body of a man was found in Withok Estates on Saturday morning.
The discovery was made at the corner of Heidelberg Road (R23) and the R550, near Tsakane.
According to information received from Brakpan police, members of the Heidelberg SAPS were notified about the body at around 7.20am.
They found the deceased face down with wounds to his head.
The scene was handed over to Brakpan police and a case of murder was opened.
