Daily crime watch

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (March 13 to 14):

Cases reported:

• Malicious damage to property: 2
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Contempt of court: 1
• Residential burglary: 2
• Armed robbery: 1
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1 (Hammanskraal case)

Arrests:

• Possession of drugs: 2
• Dealing/possession of drugs: 1
• Assault GBH: 3

Armed robbery:

• A man was assaulted and robbed of cash in Withok Estates yesterday (Wednesday).

The incident took place at about 8am as the victim arrived at a company along Vlakfontein Road.

He was waiting for the gate to open when he noticed a white Volkswagen Polo with three male occupants pull up behind him.

Two of the men climbed out of the Polo and ran towards the victim.

They threatened him at gunpoint and pulled him from his vehicle.

The victim was assaulted by both men and robbed of his money.

The robbers fled after a security guard at the company told them the police were en route.

Burglary:

• Escombe Avenue.

The break-in took place on Tuesday.

Stolen: Power tools.

• Dinghy Road, Dalpark Extension One.

The burglary occurred yesterday.

Stolen: Jewellery.
