Brakpan High School proud of sterling matric results

"My dedicated staff and I are very thrilled with this achievement."

The Brakpan High School matric class of 2019 obtained a 94.11 per cent pass rate, placing them in fourth position in the district.

“My dedicated staff and I are very thrilled with this achievement,” said school principal Lucky Nkopane.

Of the 136 candidates, a total of 71 obtained university entrance qualification and a total of 44 distinctions were achieved.

The greatest source of pride is the school’s top learner, Ijeoma Iroka.

Ijeoma scooped distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, business studies, computer applications technology and life sciences.

The bright learner attributed her success to consistent diligence and the grace of God.

Nkopane added that a special mention should go to Carnival City for the continued support of the Sci-Com Saturday School project that continues to support and develop mathematics, sciences and commerce learners from Brakpan High and other secondary schools in the Ekurhuleni region.

• Registrations for the Saturday school can be done tomorrow (Saturday) and next Saturday (January 25), while classes resume on February 1.
