Minnebron is in a sorry state
We in Ward 105 don’t get any service from the municipality but they expect taxes and other costs to be paid on time.

Jan G de Bruyn writes by email:
As far as I know, everyone at the municipality gets their bloated salaries every month, but nothing gets done.
The stormwater drains in Koos Vorster Street were cleaned and repaired by myself and other residents. The municipality does nothing.
The stormwater drains in Jim Vining and Gert Bezuidenhout streets need proper cleaning and real quality repairs so they don’t fall apart again.
The trees that grow in the access points to stormwater drains must be removed and killed so they don’t grow back again.
The open-access drains in the open field along Jim Vining Street need covers. This is dangerous.
The area around the shops in Minnebron is a health risk and dangerous to be used by any residents. There is dumped rubbish all over.

The open areas in Minnebron are overgrown and a safety and health risk because they are used as toilets and rubbish dumping sites.
When these areas are cut, they must be cleaned properly.
It’s no use to cut it and all the rubbish and grass is left to be blown everywhere and the area still looks like a rubbish dump.
The sidewalks at the shops are also hazards.
Along Koos Vorster Street, an old caravan stands on the sidewalk. That shouldn’t be allowed at all.
The sidewalks on this street are problematic and must be cleaned urgently.
I keep most of it clean because residents are too lazy and say it’s the municipality that must keep it clean.
The tarred areas of sidewalks along the streets are overgrown and the municipality has not cleaned it for years.
Look at the terrible state of Lower Road up to the R23. It is overgrown with grass and full of rubbish.
