Weekend crime round-up

An overview of crimes reported to Brakpan police from June 10 to 12.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

Friday – A home in Hendrik Potgieter Road, Dalview was burgled of cash, a laptop and a TV.
• A TV, speakers, a laptop, shoes and cash were stolen during a burglary at a home in Waterval Road, Leachville.

• Two vehicle thefts were reported. A white Hyundai H100 was stolen from an address along Wenden Avenue, and a bronze Toyota Hilux was stolen from Carnival City.

• Tools and car batteries were stolen during a burglary at a business along Springs Road in Vulcania.

Saturday – Two gunmen robbed a gambling shop along 12th Road in Maryvlei at 19:00.

A female employee and a security guard were closing up for the evening when they were confronted by the pair.

After forcing the employee to open the shop, the robbers took cash from the office and fled.

• A vehicle parked along Derby Avenue was stripped of its battery and windshield wipers.

• A laptop was stolen during a burglary at a home in Eagle Place, Denneoord.

Sunday – A fast-food eatery in Kwa-Thema Square, Maryvlei, was burgled of cash.
