Car mania as husband and wife win in consecutive weeks at Carnival City
How lucky can you get?
Carnival City celebrated its Super Sweet 24th birthday with giveaways worth R3.8m in cash and 10 car draws in the Car Mania promotion, which ended on October 29.
For the car promotion, winners were able to choose between a Volkswagen Polo Vivo, Toyota Starlet or R200 000 cash.
Showing how gaming is a game of chance, husband and wife Bert and Marguerite Kachelhoffer each won a car a week apart, in separate draws.
Each draw winner had to choose a ball from a bag and the number on the ball corresponded to a briefcase which showcased the prize that they won.
The briefcases were scrambled before each draw, so no one knew where the big play lay.

In the grand finale, one exceptionally lucky winner was presented with the keys to a brand-new Hyundai Tucson.
Carnival City general manager Annemie Turk said six of the winners had opted to drive away in Polo Vivos, three opted for cash and one drove off in the Hyundai Tucson.
“Punters had to earn points and claim draw tickets to participate in draws held each Saturday,” Turk said.
“One of our winners only had one ticket, and with that one entry, won herself a car, showing how Lady Luck was on her side – but you have to be in it to win it.
“It has been two months of fun as we celebrated our birthday, from prizes to cakes, shows and cars, and we’ve been privileged to bring our Most Valued Guests along for the ride.”
