Akademia students give San Michele a facelift

The students were hard at work cleaning halls, painting pillars and ceilings, and organising equipment for the home.

The San Michele Home was the beneficiary of community service from 80 first-year students from Akademia on February 3.

The community service is part of students’ first-year orientation, and the institution sent 60 girls and 20 boys to the home in Withok Estates that accommodates intellectually and physically disabled people.

Some students painted pillars, while others cleaned and organised the therapy rooms (music, physical and occupational) and the chapel.

Others painted ceilings in the intensive care wards and Dagbreek medium-care wards.

The students worked from about 09:30 to 12:30 and received food and beverages before heading home.
