Hundreds of young athletes will flock to the Boksburg Stadium when the venue hosts the Gauteng Schools Track and Field Championships for primary schools on March 8 and 9.

The competition, hosted by the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, follows the success of the regional championships, where the young athletes represented their schools and qualified for the provincials.
After the event, the department will select the team to represent the province in the National Schools Athletics Championships from March 24 to 26 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The competition will take place from 06:00 to 17:00 on both days.
