Gate motor theft suspects arrested with stolen goods
The three were immediately arrested and detained at the Brakpan Police Station.
Three foreign nationals were arrested by the Brakpan SAPS Crime Prevention Unit on January 14 for possession of suspected stolen goods and theft.
Unit members were patrolling the Brenthurst area, when they spotted a grey Nissan associated with the commission of a crime.
The vehicle was linked to a theft of gate motor case in Dalview, where it was seen on security video footage. The unit immediately gave chase and the vehicle with three occupants was cornered and halted.
SAPS members searched the vehicle and found two gate motors with brackets, a crowbar, a spanner, and a T-shirt matching one seen on the camera footage.
The trio, aged 21, 28 and 31, were immediately placed under arrest and detained at the Brakpan Plice station for possession of suspected stolen goods and theft.
The vehicle was booked in, as it was used in the commission of a crime. Brakpan SAPS management applauded the vigilance of the unit members and welcomed the success.
