Schools see high police visibility during back-to-school campaign
Various schools were visited and received assistance with traffic control and inspections from stakeholders.

A team from the Brakpan SAPS and stakeholders visited several local schools during a back-to-school campaign on January 15.
The Sector 4 manager and Social Crime Prevention co-ordinator, Sergeant Faith Ntuli, led the team in welcoming back the learners and teachers at Dalpark Secondary School.
Ntuli, social workers and EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit members spoke about drugs, teenage pregnancy, safety in and out of school, behaviours and the importance of education during assembly.
The Sector 1 manager and corporate communications officer, Constable Audrey Buthelezi, led another team at Brakpan High School while ensuring no learners roamed the streets during school hours.
The team searched the learners at the school gates and checked for dress code compliance.
“Law enforcers were deployed to most schools, including primary schools, to assist with rush hour traffic control and ensure the safety of learners when their transport providers dropped them off,” Buthelezi explained.
School principals, teachers and parents were grateful to see law enforcement at schools.
