Swinging for change: Lazarus Legacy’s golf day returns this October

Now in its eighth year, LLF’s annual golf day continues to transform lives through education, food security and local empowerment.

Dalpark-based The Lazarus Legacy Foundation (LLF) is getting ready to host golfers at its eighth annual charity golf day at Lake Club Benoni on October 17.

This annual event plays a vital role in their fundraising efforts to uplift and support vulnerable communities through long-term, sustainable programmes.

Their 2024 golf day was an overwhelming success, thanks to the generous contributions from valued sponsors.

Thanks to last year’s support, LLF achieved several key milestones, including:
• Awarding academic bursaries to deserving students
• Operating a weekly soup kitchen that feeds over 500 individuals
• Providing monthly grocery vouchers to struggling families
• Managing daily operations that directly serve communities.

Another highlight has been the continued growth of their community garden project, which now consistently produces nutritious vegetables to support their soup kitchen and local families.

The garden is maintained year round with the dedication of two full-time employees from the community, who have found purpose and livelihood through this initiative.

With partnerships in 2025, LLF hopes to:
• Expand their bursary programme and educational support
• Cover school fees and supply essential learning materials
• Upgrade the community garden with protective tunnels to enhance productivity
• Launch an EDC centre to assist children with learning and development needs.

Join LLF for a meaningful day of golf, giving, and networking, followed by a festive evening of prize-giving and community connection. For bookings and more information, call 065 721 2017/073 809 0155 or email to kivasha@lazaruslegacy.org
