Make every coin count: Brakpan SPCA’s ‘Tins of Change’ campaign kicks off

Honour Nelson Mandela’s legacy with action. Pick up a Mandela Tin from the Brakpan SPCA and help collect 67 days of change.

This Mandela Month, the Brakpan SPCA is inspired by the legacy of Madiba, a man who had a deep appreciation for animals and their welfare.

In his honour, the local society is launching 67 Tins or Change, a campaign to help fund much-needed kennel revamps at the facility.

The campaign kicked off on Mandela Day (July 18) with the distribution of Mandela Tins to participating community members
Over the next 67 days, the society invites those individuals to collect spare change and help transform the lives of the animals in the SPCA’s care.

To get involved, collect a Mandela Tin, take it home and start filling it with loose change. Fill the tin before the 67 days are up.

If you have filled the tin before the deadline, simply bring it back and exchange it for a new one. Each tin will be numbered so that contributions can be tracked.

At the end of the campaign, the person who collects the most will receive a special SPCA appreciation award. Tins can be collected from the SPCA at 96 Denne Road in Witpoort.
