Gunshots ring out in Plastic City: Man discovered dead in vehicle
Brakpan SAPS are investigating a case of murder after a man was found shot dead in his bakkie. Authorities are urging the community to come forward with information.
A fatal shooting in the Plastic City informal settlement left one man dead inside his bakkie on Sunday evening.
Constable Audrey Buthelezi, Brakpan SAPS Sector 1 manager and communications officer, told the Brakpan Herald that police responded to reports of gunshots in the settlement at around 20:55.
“Upon arrival, police members discovered a motionless body of an adult male with gunshot wounds to his head inside a Fiat bakkie. The man was declared dead on scene by paramedics,” she said.
Buthelezi added that police are appealing to community members to come forward with any information that can assist in the investigation.
“No community members from Plastic City have come forward as a witness. The motive for the killing is unknown, and the suspect/s still at large. A case of murder has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
