Morning hijacking turns into kidnapping ordeal
A man was hijacked along Airport Drive in Dalpark and later transferred into another vehicle before being dumped in Soweto.
The driver of a white Chery Tiggo 4 Pro was held captive after falling victim to hijackers in Dalpark on Monday morning.
According to police information, the hijackers struck at around 09:30, while the victim was stationary at an intersection along Airport Drive.
Two men approached the victim’s car and then pointed firearms at him. The victim complied with their instruction to open the doors, and the pair climbed in.
The victim was told to drive. As they approached the Boksburg Stadium, the victim saw a man standing next to a blue Toyota.
They stopped and the victim was told to get in the Toyota, after which he was driven around for about three hours.
He was dumped in Soweto and made his way to Moroka SAPS to report the incident. Cases of hijacking and kidnapping are under investigation.
