An Escombe Avenue man’s ordinary evening turned to terror when he was abducted by hijackers.
According to police information, the hijacking took place at around 19:00 on October 6 after the victim returned home from the shops and parked his silver-coloured BMW 320d inside his yard.
As he was about to close the gate, he was approached by three men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.

They then stopped at an undisclosed location where a fourth man joined them. They then continued driving.
Later they arrived at a location where the victim’s face was covered with a black hat. All the men exited the vehicle, but one of them kept returning to demand the iCloud PIN for the victim’s iPhone.

The hijackers then got into a Volkswagen Polo and drove the victim to a bushy area. There, the victim was instructed to run and not look back.
He complied and continued running until he reached a housing complex in an unidentified area, where he sought help.
In addition to the BMW, the hijackers also made off with the victim’s iPhone, a laptop and some of his work belongings. Cases of hijacking and kidnapping are under investigation by Brakpan SAPS.
