Village of Hope brings joy to East Rand Children’s Haven during special birthday visit

Brakpan NPO Village of Hope visited the East Rand Children’s Haven, joining in a child’s birthday celebration and donating clothing and shoes.

Brakpan-based non-profit organisation Village of Hope visited the East Rand Children’s Haven in Brenthurst on October 3, where they had the privilege of joining in the celebration of a young child’s birthday.

According to the NPO’s founder, Tumie Masolane, it was a heartwarming moment to be part of such a significant day.

The East Rand Children’s Haven provides care for 20 children who have been placed at the home through court orders.

During the visit, Village of Hope donated clothing and shoes to the children. Masolane, who was accompanied by Ntsoaki Sindane on the day, described the atmosphere as filled with joy as the children expressed excitement and gratitude for the gifts.

For the pair, it was a deeply fulfilling experience to bring comfort and love to children.

“All thanks to chaplain Elvira Davis for opening the doors for us to make this visit possible,” said Masolane.

She also extended appreciation to the generous sponsors who contributed the clothing. Village of Hope strives to assist wherever there is a need, and regularly conducts feeding outreach programmes in different informal settlements throughout Brakpan.

Recently, the NPO also extended support to displaced residents of the Plastic City informal settlement, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to vulnerable communities.

While the organisation receives support from a few dedicated sponsors, they are actively seeking both corporate and individual partners to help sustain and expand their vital work.

Donations of any kind are welcome and greatly appreciated. For more information or to offer support, contact Masolane on 073 934 7409.
