Brakpan police hunt armed duo after house burglary
Police urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two men to come forward. Residents are advised not to approach the pair.
Brakpan SAPS detectives are appealing to the public to come forward with information about the whereabouts of two Mozambican men wanted in connection with a house burglary during which six different types of firearms and ammunition were stolen.
According to Constable Audrey Buthelezi, Brakpan SAPS Sector 1 manager and communications officer, the pair was traced and spotted at the Mgongo informal settlement (Old Location) near Brakpan North.
“By the time the detectives arrived, both had run away. Several items that were stolen during the burglary in Brakpan North were found in a shack in which the two stay at Mgongo, and those items were positively identified by the homeowners,” she said.
“In the same shack, a TV was found which was positively identified by the owner who previously opened a house break-in case, and that case is still under investigation.
