Gamble tries his hand in the UK
The Brakpan-based United Cricket Club’s Premier League skipper, Justin Gamble (18), has his sights set on making his name in the United Kingdom.
He recently jetted off to Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England, to play for Holmfirth, in the Drakes Huddersfield Cricket League, the premier cricket competition in the region.
The talented left-handed batsman and left-arm orthodox bowler is hoping that the move will earn him a breakthrough into the first-class game back home.
For the moment though, the United Cricket Club captain is hoping to gain valuable experience on different wickets, in colder UK conditions.
Gamble was recently named Man of the Tournament for the Rowlin National Cricket Academy (RNCA), at an international u-18 T20 competition, in Johor, Malaysia.
Following the tournament the teenager spent two days at home, before hopping on the plane to England.
His team, Holmfirth, is currently at the bottom of the Drakes Huddersfield Premier League table, and Gamble will have to put in some solid displays for them if they are to avoid relegation.
