Tigers tear it up at championship
The Brakpan Tigers Taekwondo Club's athletes brought home a total of nine medals from the 2015 Korean Ambassadors Cup Taekwondo Championships, held at the University of Pretoria, on Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24.
They battled it out against competitors from neighbouring countries, including Botswana, Mozambique and Lesotho.
Team captain Carlo Cardoso claimed a gold medal, as did Chelsea Chiwocha in the sparring/kyorogi class.
The remainder of the team brought home three silver and four bronze medals in various categories.
These members are Blessing Hundivenga, Angelique Cardoso van Niekerk, Mathews Mafereka, Teboho Tshotetsi, Zanele Tshotetsi, Dineo Mashegoane, Frederick Smith,Wayne Kacheche, Kudakwashe Gara and Madelaine Cardoso van Niekerk.
