United juniors are fearless
The u-10A Sun League junior team from Brakpan’s United Cricket Club has been lauded for their fearless attitude and tremendous weekly team spirit.
“Everyone in this team carries their weight and plays some amazing cricket every week,” said team manager Madelyn Kruger.
On February 10 the team played Actonville Spurs Cricket Club and showed real cricketing prowess.
United batted first and scored 169/5 with notable performances by Sheldon Kruger (42 runs) and Keegan John Caixeiro (84 not out).
They then proceeded to bowl Actonville out for 94 runs to secure a well-deserved 75-run win.
The team’s HJ Boshoff and Johnny Pienaar each bagged a brace of wickets with the ball to ensure the victory.
“Choosing a Man of the Match in this team is impossible because each and every boy played like a champ and as a team,” added the manager.
“Well done boys.”
