Revving up the festive season

These events promise to be winners for the lovers of high-octane and revving engines.

The Rock Raceway is determined to keep petrol heads entertained.

Kicking off a full long weekend, on December 14, of racing and events with the popular by demand Rockmania Showdown to wrap up another eventful season at the much-loved track.

The prestigious motorsport venue in Brakpan will feature all the favourite disciplines in action as the drifters, oval-track racing, Formula N circuit drivers, drag racing, spinning and a stunt will all partake and form part of the event.

Drift suicide rides for the bucket list junkies will be on sale for all the adrenaline seekers at R100 a ride.

Eager patrons can arrive from 10am when gates open for business with practice sessions throughout the course of the day and racing expected to start at 3pm.

The next day will see Sunday night drags taking place. This is usually held on the last Sunday of every month.

This is an opportunity for the public to put their own cars to the test.

Gates open at 2pm racing starts at 4pm.

On December 16, the Rock will host the annual Spinning vs Drifting event. There will be a showdown of spinner teams taking on the Rock drifters.

Gates will open at 10am and racing starts at noon.

The action does not stop there as the Rock will host Wicked Wednesday Night Drags on December 18. This is another chance for the public to have some fun with their own cars.

Gates open at 5pm and racing starts at 6pm.

These events promise to be winners for the lovers of high-octane and revving engines as the adrenalin rush of racing and drifting is known to captivate fans.
