Xtreme Kickboxing Technologies (XKT) recently hosted the SAKA (South African Kickboxing Association) and WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Associations) Tiny Titans and Youth Championships in Brakpan at the Brakpan Indoor Sports centre.

XKT president Raymond Phillips said the event was well attended and was a great success.

“The event is to help develop our youth for the future and by doing so we are forging our young athletes into the next champions,” he explained.

On top of a successful event, XKT is also celebrating one of their top youth athletes, Tatum du Plessis, who is leaving for the Junior World WAKO Kickboxing Championships in Italy.

She is representing the Kickboxing National Team.

“We all wish her success and to bring back the titles,” Phillips said.

Sempei (coach) Darius Dekker also recently won his full contact kickboxing (K1) bout in Vereeniging presented by Collide Fight League (CFL).

“Our next event, Battle in the East, is taking place on the October 24. This event will be a junior and senior event.

“Last year we had around 300 athletes. We are looking forward to see athletes competing from all provinces,” Phillips concluded.
