Rand Water clears its decks
Rand Water has once again entrusted Park Village Auctions (PVA) with its annual clearance sale.
Every year Rand Water “clears the decks” in a bid to unlock value from depreciating stock. Over the past few years, PVA has been instructed with the sale time and time again.
This year, the auction comprises two parts – specifically, movables and prospectus sales. Under the banner of the moveable assets, a collection of TLB’s, tractors, various vehicles, bakkies, quantum, a Mercedes-Benz water tanker, electrical panels, computers, and office furniture amongst other items will be auctioned.
Various transformers and regulators will be auctioned by way of the prospectus sales. One prospectus lot comprises two South Wales transformers at engine room 2 which will be sold as one lot. Via another prospectus, three regulators at engine room 3 and four regulators at engine room 2 – all of which were custom built for Rand Water – will be auctioned as one lot.
Three Republic Tranmarco transformers located at engine room 3 will be auctioned as one prospectus lot and 21 tier and 27 tier 400V electric panels located in engine room 2 and engine room 3 respectively will also be auctioned as another prospectus lot.
Notes PVA’s Bertie Saunderson: “Given the nature of this auction, it should appeal to a broad cross section of buyers ranging from engineers, fleet owners and construction entities to industrial concerns and those simply seeking office furniture stock. The fact that the majority of the assets are in good condition will also bolster this auction’s appeal, especially when viewed against the backdrop of a flagging economy. Suffice to say we expect to see a good turnout on the day.”

> Viewing of the movable assets will take place on June 26 at Rand Water’s central depot between 9am and 4pm.
> Viewing of the prospectus assets will take place on June 27 at 9am, 11am and 1pm. Please note: These assets can be viewed by appointment only. Full PPE is compulsory.
> The auction will take place on site at Rand Water’s central depot off Kliprivier Drive, in Alberton on June 30 at 11am.
