Kasi Jam Sessions to showcase local talent in Merafong

The initiative aims to promote collaboration, exposure and appreciation of local creative talent across multiple music genres.

Local artists are invited to a creative platform where they will be able to showcase their talents to the Merafong audience. The “Kasi Jam Sessions” will be taking place from Thursday, February 12, at Merafong 360 Online Radio in Khutsong, Khayalethu Section.

The platform will be hosted by a radio presenter known as KGEE on a radio show called “The Kreative Korner”, which takes place on Thursdays from 17:00 to 19:00, where various local artists have been interviewed as guests and have also showcased their talents.

The presenter is passionate about promoting local talent and decided to extend the platform to the Jam Sessions, where a group of artists will be invited to showcase together. There will be different genres such as Hip Hop, Kwaito, RnB, Soul, Piano and Traditional music, as the platform welcomes creativity at its best.

The Jam Sessions will host rappers, singers, poets, instrumentalists and bands throughout Merafong in order to create exposure as well as forge collaborations. The initiative is inspired by the lack of platforms for local creative people, and the vision is to eventually host the Jam Sessions at different spaces and venues in order to create a culture of appreciating and supporting talented local artists.
