Carletonville man hijacked and kidnapped on R501 near Doornfontein

Luckily the driver was dropped off unscathed.

A Carletonville resident was hijacked on the R501 this week.

The 41-year-old resident was driving his red Mazda 2 between Doornfontein and the Elijah Barayi mega housing complex at approximately 23:50 on March 11.

Suddenly, a white bakkie pulled up behind him and pushed him off the road.

Two unknown men, who spoke Sesotho and isiZulu, jumped out.

They pushed the resident into his car’s boot and drove off with him. They later dropped him off on the side of the same road. He managed to walk to the Carletonville Police Station to get help.
